Let me just put this is a nutshell for you. Over 2,000 years ago Jesus Christ was birthed of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified on a cross to justify our sins and then rose to life from the grave, all in order to fulfill prophecy and allow us a way to God despite our sinful natures. All of this was designed with you and me in mind out of immense love from a perfect creator to a sinfully bound creation.
This alone should motivate you to dive relentlessly into the Bible and Follow Jesus. However, if you need a little more substance to go off of, let me just explain to you a few of the more Biblically sound reasons as to why everyone should Follow the Savior.
Jesus Christ died for us. He endured a systematic and humiliating form of Roman punishment and crucifixion in order to give us eternal life. How can that not move you to follow his commands and teachings? He gave us the greatest gift imaginable, is it not our obligation to give him something in return? Christ gave us life, using himself as a ransom!
“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, that man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men – the testimony given in its proper time. 1 Timothy 2:5-6
Jesus Christ saved us from Hell. It was because of this death that Jesus allowed us to have a way to God and the eternal salvation that awaits everyone who has accepted Jesus as lord of their life.
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.” Luke 19:10
By following Jesus, we can lead others to him and save them from Hell as well. It is our mandate as Christians to reach out not only to the saved, but those who need salvation. We must reach out and show the love of Christ in order to win over more souls for the glory of God. We are called to do so by Christ himself.
“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16
I could probably keep writing for a long time about this subject since I am very passionate about it. However, I think you have the basic points. This is why we should follow Jesus.
